Atlas Corps – USA
Atlas Service Corps, Inc. (Atlas Corps), started in 2006, is an international network of nonprofit leaders and organizations that promotes innovation, cooperation, and solutions to address the world’s 21st century challenges. Our mission is to address critical social issues by developing leaders, strengthening organizations, and promoting innovation through an overseas fellowship of skilled nonprofit professionals. Profiled as a “best practice” in international exchange by the Brookings Institution and featured in the Washington Post as a model social entrepreneurship program, Atlas Corps engages leaders committed to the nonprofit sector in 12 to 18 month, professional fellowships at organizations to learn best practices, build organizational capacity, and return home to create a network of global changemakers. As of January 2013, our network of Fellows includes 155 nonprofit leaders from 55 countries.

Informations sur Atlas Corps – USA
Atlas Corps (AC) provides fellowships to rising nonprofit leaders from around the world, offering them the opportunity to volunteer overseas for 12 to 18 months. During this period, fellows network and develop skills by working at U.S. nonprofits. After completing their fellowships, they return to their home countries to work on programs related to their fellowships. Since the first fellows arrived in the U.S. in 2007, AC has welcomed leaders from 155 countries.
A "Reverse" Peace Corps
The Brookings Institution has compared Atlas Corps to a "reverse" Peace Corps. Originally, Harris Wofford planned for the Peace Corps to include volunteers from developing countries working in the U.S. However, this idea was halted by resistance from the U.S. Government. The Brookings Institution recognizes Atlas Corps as a private sector example of this concept.
Facilitating Global Change Leaders
Atlas Corps facilitates overseas fellowships for top global change leaders. These leaders serve at outstanding organizations in the nonprofit, private, and government sectors, addressing critical social issues. During their fellowships, they are enrolled in an ongoing training program called the Global Leadership Lab.
Multiplying Knowledge and Impact
After 12 to 18 months, fellows return to their home countries and regions to multiply the knowledge and skills they have gained. They share effective practices, valuable experiences, and the global network of change makers they developed during their fellowship. This approach ensures that the impact of the Atlas Corps fellowship extends far beyond the initial volunteer period, fostering long-term positive change in their home communities.
